To apply hair color you have to follow certain steps:

1. Choose the right color

First have a basic understanding of the natural hair color that you are endowed with. Then check the L’Oreal color charts to choose the shade of color you would prefer. Make sure you choose a shade that complements your natural hair color.

You must bear in mind that Majirel can lighten your hair color two or three shade away from your natural color and it can darken more than three shades. For lightening, though you may have to bleach your hair first.

2. Mix the hair color

Mix one 1.7 ounce Majirel mixer with 2.6 ounces of Majicreme developer. Allow the mixture to remain for 20 minutes.

3. Application

Make sure you wear protective gloves to prevent any chemicals on your skin. On your neck or face ensure your apply petroleum jelly especially around your hair line. Use a hair brush to apply the mixture to your hair strands. If your hair is damaged, make certain that you have conditioned or oiled it two days prior to coloring. While applying color, start at the bottom and work your way up to the strands until the end. Apply to the roots only at the end as roots are closest to your scalp and hence the heat from your body speeds up the development of the color. Cover your entire head with the color.

4. Wash

Allow a development time of 35 minutes before washing. For a quicker application you may sit under a professional hair dryer. Before washing, you may test to see that the color has indeed developed and is of the shade you desire. To do this, just wipe away color from a few strands to make sure. Rinse with cold water until color runs out. Apply a deep conditioner to protect your colored hair.

5. Re-application as needed

For re-application, allow the mixture to remain on your hair for 35 minutes. Thereafter wash it using warm water and a hydrating shampoo. For moderate fading, add few drops of warm water to the mixture and allow it to remain 10 to 15 minutes before washing
