Foil shavers versus rotary shavers
Rotary shavers use the convenience of three different heads of circular blades which are very different to the single strips of blades which the manual and foil shavers contain.
Electric shavers are a very useful, efficient and beautiful gadget to have. Compared to a shave with a manual razor it is far easier to just pick up the electrical shaver, switch it on and get the work done – the only disadvantage is that they need to be recharged, but this usually takes an hour to charge up for a vert long period of time. Generally, you don’t need any gel or water with electric shavers – reducing the cost of running them and increasing efficiency of the razor. Electric shavers are a lot safer than manual razors, so this means a very low chance of cuts and nicks some razors can even clean themselves!
Rotary Shavers
Do you prefer to go longer in between shaves? This is more suitable shaver for cutting longer hairs enabling to go longer without shaving and varying different styles. They are also a lot easier and efficient to use than a foil shaver due to the flexibility and mobility of the three heads. Another advantage is that these types of shavers are quieter and cause less irritation
Foil Shavers
Foil shavers do cut closer than rotary shavers depending on the type and model, but aren’t usually as efficient as rotary. These are a more common type of razor
It’s up to personal preference which one you prefer.
Tips on using a rotary shaver
With all electric shavers you can shave dry, meaning that no water or gel is needed – this also means less time shaving and greater convenience
When you are using a rotary shaver you should use it in circular motions around the face in combination with moving the shaver in a straight line. Aim to try and shave against the grain of the hair. You can also use your free hand to stretch or hold the skin tight as it is being shaved – this enables flat lying hairs stand up from the skin and be more easily cut, it also allows the shaver to cut closer the the hair follicle.
If you have had your shaver for a long period of time, then you may need to change the blades in the razor as they may have become blunt – this should cause you to have a closer shave. Also if you blades become dirty then you shave will be less optimal – ensure you thoroughly clean the blades of all grime, dirt and hair.
